I belong to the Mechanical Design Group in the Design Department, and the nature of my work has changed as I accumulate experience, even in the same department. I used to engage in designing components when I was young, but I have been in charge of slightly more upstream processes recently. My current job is mainly to consider the outline and direction of vacuum thin film forming systems based on the specifications prepared by the Product Design Department. The difficulty in considering the system outline is that it is insufficient to do the work of my own department. As the Design Department is an upstream department that provides information to other departments, it is necessary to proceed with the entire process from a broad perspective while collaborating with other departments such as manufacturing, purchasing, and production control. As the nature of my work changed, so did the quality of my sense of accomplishment. When I was in charge of making component drawings, I had a kind of sense of accomplishment after finishing my assignment. But now, I feel a sense of accomplishment that is close to a feeling of relief after a system is completed and delivered to a customer. I cannot relax at all until delivery.

CHAPTER 01

What made you choose Shincron?

Fate, resulting from my school days and that started from an interest
I am a graduate of a technical college and had studied electro-optics. When I was in my second year, I had an opportunity to work part-time over the summer vacation at an iron factory making components for Shincron’s systems. There, I found out that the systems were used to form vacuum thin films, and I was attracted to the sound of a word “vacuum”. In this way, I became interested in Shincron. After that, when I was in the fourth year, I participated in an internship at Shincron because I wanted to work in my hometown. Furthermore, I chose thin film formation as the subject of my graduation work when I was in the fifth year. I had been linked to Shincron by fate during my school days.
CHAPTER 02

What do you think is the good point about Shincron?

Comfortable human relationships that allow me to be myself
In Shincron, my superiors, colleagues, seniors, and juniors stand close to each other. This makes it easier to discuss things together to narrow down the idea in the final phase and determine many things when considering an outline. I think we have an established system that helps us cooperate with each other naturally.
As I have gained a lot of cooperation, I always try to approach my juniors voluntarily.
CHAPTER 03

How do you spend your time during your holidays?

Enjoying my hobby more deeply under the influence of my work
After joining Shincron, and under my senior’s influence, cameras became my hobby. As lenses are deeply related to optical thin film, which is our main technology, my hobby is half for study. I tend to spend my time with my family, so I mainly take photos of my kids and the scenery of places I visited. That’s what I like the most now.
CHAPTER 04

What is your future vision?

A task to hand down the tradition of 70 years and technological assets
I think it is necessary for Shincron to have “the ability to design one step ahead of the times” while taking into account customer needs as well as market trends, in order to survive grueling competition with domestic and foreign companies in the same industry. With its 70-year tradition, Shincron has a broad range of skills including our experience-based knowledge. How do we pass on these technological assets? That is our major challenge right now. At present, we are working on handing down our technological assets in cooperation with our Design Department alumni.
